Former Columbus Police Vice officer Andrew Mitchell pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and manslaughter in court Friday. He is being held without bond after being indicted by a grand jury in the fatal shooting of Donna Castleberry.

Federal prosecutors on Monday announced the indictment of Columbus Police Vice officer Andrew Mitchell, who authorities allege kidnapped victims under the guise of an arrest and forced them to exchange sex for their freedom.

Acting Columbus Police chief Tim Becker and Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien released a statement Thursday about the ongoing criminal investigation into fired Mount Carmel doctor William Husel.

The state says the now-closed Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow still owes tens of millions of dollars for students it didn’t have but was paid to educate.
