This tax season, the state of Ohio is no longer accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment from businesses. Ohio's attorney general is making it clear that he's firmly against the idea of bringing back cryptocurrency as a way to pay taxes.

In Ohio, as many as 19,000 children are projected to be in the foster care system by this time next year. State leaders are offering a plan that could address the crisis by alleviating some of the financial stress that comes with adoption through reduced interest rates.

After less than a year and a handful of transactions, the website that was allowing Ohioans to pay taxes in bitcoin has been shut down by state treasurer Robert Sprague.

The state is giving farmers another opportunity to apply for loans as they deal with severe weather and flooding that has kept many farmers from planting their crops.

The state has been allowing people to pay 23 kinds of taxes in the digital currency bitcoin for almost three months, in an effort to establish Ohio as a leader in blockchain technology.

The candidates for governor and other statewide races have released their final fundraising reports before next month’s election. It’s been a record-breaking election for at least one race.

The five statewide executive offices will all turn over this year because of term limits on their occupants. The person elected treasurer will oversee Ohio’s $21.5 billion portfolio of investments, and will manage the collection of billions in state revenues.
