The Ohio Senate’s budget plan adds more money to the fund that helps children who are dealing with severe mental and developmental issues while shifting policy to help parents maintain custody of their children in the process.

Governor-elect Mike DeWine announced the nomination of Annette Chambers-Smith as the next director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. If confirmed, Chambers-Smith would be the first woman to lead the DRC.

The early voting period for the November election started Wednesday morning across Ohio. In Franklin County, some voters camped outside at the Franklin County Board of Elections office to be some of the first in the state to cast their ballots.
