Northeast Ohio will be the center of the pro sports world over the next several years. This July, Progressive Field hosts the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. In 2021, the city has been awarded as the site of the NFL Draft. In 2022, Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse will host the NBA All-Star Game.

Cleveland will host the 2021 NFL Draft, the annual selection of the top players in college football, National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell annouced Wednesday.

When the NFL draft begins Thursday it will be different for the Cleveland Browns. Typically, the draft is full of both excitement and anxiety for Browns fans used to losing seasons and a carousel of quarterbacks, coaches and general managers.

But this year, WKSU sports commentator Terry Pluto thinks the Browns look more like a team headed for the playoffs than the bottom of the league. That means a lot of pressure is off the team come draft day.

Thursday is the NFL draft. And for Browns fans, it’s the equivalent of the Super Bowl. The team that went 0-16 last season has the first and fourth picks. WKSU sports commentator Terry Pluto says there's been a lot of speculation and rumors about who the Browns will select, but it’s fairly safe to say it will be a quarterback.

The NFL draft begins Thursday night. For Browns fans, it's the equivalent of the Super Bowl. The team has the No. 1 pick after going 1-15 this past season.

WKSU commentator Terry Pluto says the Browns have 11 total picks, and five of the top 65 selections.

Pluto says fans will be glued to ESPN watching the draft experts analyze the players.

This week, a top NFL prospect angered some Browns fans by clamoring to play for another team. Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett is considered a likely No. 1 pick in Aprils’ NFL draft – a pick owned by the Browns.
