The Cleveland Cavaliers start practice for the new season Tuesday, the first time in four years without star LeBron James.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has cleared Michigan State University of any violations stemming from how it has handled sexual assault allegations — including those against disgraced former sports doctor Larry Nassar, who was sentenced to at least 40 years in prison for sexually assaulting his patients.

The inquiry began in January.

Preparations are underway for the NCAA women's Final Four in Columbus, which will take place at Nationwide Arena in March. It's the first time Ohio State and Columbus will host the competition, which landed in Cleveland in 2007 and Cincinnati in 1997.

In the wake of a series of sexual assault allegations, college athletes, coaches and athletics administrators at NCAA member schools must now complete annual sexual violence prevention education.

Columbus will host 12 college championship events over the next five years, NCAA announced last week, including basketball, bowling, golf, lacrosse, rifle and volleyball. While the city has shown increasing interest as a sports location in the past few years, including for the women's basketball Final Four, it may be a harder sell for the industry's biggest events.
