At a table in the Linden-McKinley STEM Academy gymnasium, students argued and pleaded with interim superintendent John Stanford not to shift high schoolers to East High. The move could happen in 2020 under a broad facilities reorganization now under consideration by Columbus City Schools.

Linden McKinley Mourns Freshman Student

Jan 18, 2013

Students and staff at Linden McKinley STEM Academy are mourning the loss of 15 year old freshman Kaewaun Coleman. Coleman was fatally shot Thursday afternoon during a fight among a group of teens about a block away from the school. District spokesman Jeff Warner says Coleman is remembered as having a sunny disposition. "From what I understand from the principal, a very dynamic young man, very funny, very respectful. She recalled him always saying ma'am to her, yes ma'am, yes ma'am, I'll take my hat off." Linden STEM Academy enrolls approximately 700 students in grades 7 through 12.
