With just two days left, Columbus has seen 173 homicides in 2020. Columbus Police Deputy Chief Michael Woods says this is the most homicides the city has seen in a single year.

Columbus has set a new record for number of yearly homicides. Friday marked the city's 144th homicide so far in 2020.

Mayor Andrew Ginther and the Columbus Police Chief on Tuesday once again called on the community for help as Columbus surpassed 100 homicides for the year. With more than three months left in the year, the city is on track to break its 2017 record of 143 homicides.
