Wellness Wednesday: Dining Out While Social Distancing

Ohio restaurants are grappling with how to resume indoor dining service while adhering to state orders on social distancing.

Some restaurant operators are going above and beyond, devising creative solutions to keep diners safe during the pandemic.

Franklin County Public Health has apologized after releasing a document advising African Americans to avoid face coverings that might be interpreted as being "associated with gang symbolism."

Two new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Franklin County. The cases were confirmed by Franklin County Public Health on Sunday morning.

Preliminary data from Franklin County Public Health show 380 Franklin County residents died of an overdose between January and September 2019. That is a 9% increase from the same period in 2018.

Thanks to a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Franklin County will receive nearly $4 million annually for the next three years to better track and respond to opioid abuse.

Franklin County Public Health is offering the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine, without appointments, at locations across the county Wednesday-Friday.

Flu shot

Free flu shots will be offered today by the Franklin County Public Health Department.  The seasonal shots will be available at Hamilton Middle School on the south side, at 755 Rathmell Road,  between noon and 2 this afternoon.
