Columbus-based Express, Inc. on Wednesday announced plans to close 100 stores around the country, although none of the closures are expected here in Central Ohio.

Lingerie models for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show won't be walking down the runway this holiday season.

Forever 21 — the ubiquitous mall-based fashion retailer aimed at teens, tweens and young adults — filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, joining a growing list of apparel outlets to fall victim to competitive online market pressures.

The California-based company may close up to 178 U.S. stores, according to court records.

California and New York have both enacted bans of discrimination based on natural hairstyles, bringing state law more into alignment with societal norms.

In California, the law updates the definition of race, referring to hair texture and protective hairstyles, noting that hair can be a proxy for race and that rules against certain types and styles of hair associated with race is racial discrimination.

Rihanna became the first black woman to lead a luxury fashion house in Paris when LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world’s largest luxury goods group, in May announced that her clothing brand, Fenty, would join its family.

That also makes Rihanna the first woman to create an original brand for the French conglomerate, and the first woman of color to head an LVMH house.  

But that’s the exception, according to the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The group in January released the results of a survey that found 41% of respondents rated their fashion company 3 out of 5 on in-house diversity at their company.
