A new Franklin County Sheriff will take over on January 2: Dallas Baldwin, a retired Lieutenant with the Columbus Police Department.

Compared to his incumbent Zach Scott, Dallas Baldwin was relatively unknown at the beginning of the primary election. Still, he took 52 percent of the vote for Franklin County Sheriff. As a retired Lieutenant and 28-year veteran of the Columbus Police Department, Baldwin says he’s hoping to work effectively with the board of county commissioners.
