Spectators Flock Into Columbus For Red, White and Boom

Jul 3, 2017

Some 500,000 people are expected near downtown Columbus on Monday for the 37th annual Red, White and Boom fireworks display.

Activities begin at 11 a.m., with a kickoff parade at 6 p.m. and the fireworks scheduled to start at 10 p.m.

COTA will operate seven express Park and Ride stations, with buses coming into downtown from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Buses will depart immediately after fireworks, which end around midnight.

To prevent any lost children, Columbus Police will set up five child registration booths, these will also double as lost and founds.

New this year will be a beer garden at North Bank Park, and yesterday afternoon's charity 5K.
