A Dension University student who had been missing since Sunday night has been found dead.
Wendell Jackson, 21, was found deceased at the Denison's Biological Reserve, according to an announcement for the school.
Classes have been canceled Tuesday at the Granville campus. The university is providing grief counselors at Curtis West Lounge and Whisler Health Center and Swasey Chapel will be open for students, faculty and staff to gather and remember Jackson.
Jackson, who was a native of the Chicago area, served as a resident assistant and a graduate of the LeaderShape program, according to the school.
Denison University officials say a search is ongoing for an undergraduate student who has been reported missing from the central Ohio school since Sunday evening.
Ginny Sharkey, a university spokeswoman, says 21-year-old Wendell Jackson was last seen studying at an academic building on campus between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday.
University officials say campus police are working alongside Granville Police and the Granville Township Fire Department in the investigation and search for Jackson.
Sharkey says the junior from the Chicago area never returned home to his dorm room Sunday and hasn't responded to any calls to his cell phone.
She says Jackson did not attend classes Monday and his friends have not heard from him.
A prayer vigil for Jackson was held Monday evening at Swasey Chapel.
