Filmmaking and Art by Inmates Behind Bars

Aug 31, 2017

An innovative project worked with incarcerated women at the Dayton Correctional Institution to write and direct their own short films. The shorts will be shown next month at the Wexner Center.

Today we'll look at programs aimed at creating self-expression for those behind bars and the effects the programs have.

  • Chinonye Chukwu, founder, Pens to Pictures
  • Beverly Fears, writer/director, Pens to Pictures
  • Jessie Glover,  theatre teacher with the Theater of Conviction at Marion Correctional Institution
  • David Brown, executive director and founder, the Harmony Project

The series of films from the Pens to Pictures project will be screened on Wednesday, Sept 6th at the Wexner Center for the Arts.
