William Anthony, the director of the Franklin County Board of Elections who’s facing a felony indictment, is expected to retire in two weeks.

A board spokesman says it’s extended paid leave for Anthony until August 15, when he’s expected to step down. He was indicted two weeks ago on charges of theft in office and falsification of payroll records.

Anthony is accused of signing off on time sheets that he knew were inaccurate. He has pleaded not guilty.

Anthony stepped down from his position as chairman of the Franklin County Democratic Party earlier this year.
