The Catholic Diocese of Columbus just celebrated its 150th birthday in March. Inspired by a Curious Cbus question from David Patrick, we decided to delve into the history of Catholicism in Columbus.

Sunday worship at Church in the Circle includes a variety of music, members represent multiple races and economic statuses and people attend the University Circle Church from inside and outside of the city. And the spirit of diversity is intentional.

“Enable people to know, ‘hey, I could find something of myself there,” said Rev. Kenneth Chalker, pastor of the church.

Chalker began working in Cleveland 30 years ago at First United Methodist Church at E. 30th Street and Euclid Avenue.

Lawyers for the Central Ohio megachurch World Harvest Church and its former insurance company are squaring off in the Ohio Supreme Court over payment of $3.1 million settlement in a lawsuit over the alleged beating of a toddler at the church.

Local leaders of the African Methodist Episcopal Churches in Columbus went to New Orleans this week for an international church meeting.   The recent killings of nine church members at Emanuel A.M.E. church in South Carolina are drawing lots of conversation, as well as the church fires.  Most agree though that they won't be overhauling security procedures.
