Recession Aggression

Mike DeWine is out with an ad blaming Richard Cordray for the Great Recession. Cordray is countering with an ad saying GOP policies are leaving the middle-class behind.

Campaign finance filings show Cordray outraised DeWine in this final stretch of the campaign, but DeWine is way ahead overall and has loaned his own campaign millions of dollars. Whichever way the election goes, the race has already broken records as the most expensive governor contest in Ohio history.

Slinging Mud

With just one debate left in the U.S. Senate race, Republican candidate Jim Renacci and the Ohio Republican Party are bringing up Sen. Sherrod Brown’s messy mid-80’s divorce from his first wife.

Brown's ex-wife, Larke Recchie, has held fundraisers for Brown and repeatedly asked Republicans to stop using their divorce in campaigns. At their previous debate, Brown called the allegations "disgusting" and said, "You should be ashamed of yourself."
